What is NFC?Apr 18, 2012
NFC or Near Field Communications Devices have been all the rage lately for everything from making a grocery list on your refrigerator to simply tap with your phone and go to the store, exchanging business card information, and accepting credit card payments. Today we are going to look at NFC, how it applies to your credit card processing account, and how it could reduce cost by making credit card fraud more difficult. NFC technology has been adopted as the standard in secure payment technology by many other countries including the most European countries, Canada, and even Mexico. NFC enabled credit cards often called Chip and PIN or Smart Cards offer superior protection against Identity theft and credit card fraud by making stolen information much more difficult to use. This is because to conduct a transaction the consumer must enter a PIN number very much so like a debit card. Also, the NFC chip is difficult to duplicate unlike a traditional magnetic strip. So even if a criminal is able to gets your card information it will be useless without your personal identification number or PIN. In addition, you can play these games alone or with friends anytime and anywhere using any NFC tags you already have. There is no need to wait for merchants to set up posters or tags, and you can use the same tags with any number of different games. This video will give you a glimpse into a whole new world of possibilities that are available with Nokia's new Symbian Belle smartphones and NFC.

What is NFC?May 15, 2012
NFC stands for Near Field Communication and is becoming a popular mobile tool. In late 2010 Google rolled out a new phone called the Nexus S, which was the first mainstream phone in recent history to support NFC. Maybe the more important thing to take from it was that Google is now behind the technology, and their connections to e-commerce could very well be an asset to making NFC mobile payments a large-scale reality. NFC tags come in the forms of stickers, cards, and weather resistant plastic tags, which can be placed virtually anywhere. Much like QR codes, NFC tags can launch a variety of applications- the most important for us is launching a webpage. NFC will continue to gain popularity as major device manufacturers add the hardware to devices, and as companies in other markets start to trust and integrate the technology into their products and services.
